“Dalma built a good relationship with Aisha and she felt she could trust Dalma and openly talk about worries, situations that enabled Aisha to tackle them more effectively away from therapy. Great tools and strategies developed with confidence.”

Susan (10)

“Susan clearly progressed since she started therapy.
[It is difficult to evidence that her progress was down to the therapy] but, she enjoyed and engaged with it and I believe that it has helped her a lot.”

Adam (13)

“It provided Adam with a private outlet to express his feelings about life without the perceived restrictions that conversations with his parents or teachers would invariably impose. Adam appeared to look forward to his therapy sessions which became a regular feature of his week.”

Kacper (11)

“My child really liked his therapist, he enjoyed every session, after meetings he always felt relaxed, more chatty and in a good mood. It was a good experience for him.”

In 2022, 18% of 7–16-year-olds and 22% of 17–24-year-olds had a mental health difficulty, which is not that much different from the adult figures of roughly 25%. Clearly mental health, just like physical health, is part of our lives from the very beginning, much before we can analyse or talk eloquently about it.

My Areas of Expertise:

Everybody, at some point in their lives, can benefit from counselling. However, starting when the issue first comes up can save much suffering and a building up of a negative self-image later. For this reason, I am dedicated to work with young clients and happy to help if your child experiencing:

  • Anxieties: separation, school avoidance, social, academic, examination and social media related anxieties as well as climate and environmental concerns
  • Depression: Loss and bereavement
  • Relational issues: bullying, difficulties with family and friends, gaslighting and abuse
  • Trauma
  • Eating and sleeping problems

My Approach

I am an integrative child and adolescent counsellor and use theories and activities or tools that best suit the child’s or young person’s age and temperament. Generally speaking, the younger the client is, the more of play therapy will be used to tap into the deeper feelings. They are often impossible or very difficult to name and formulate at that age. With adolescents and young adults, the sessions will remain creative but can incorporate more talking therapy.
